As part of the registration process Datum Marine Services Ltd. will need to collect personal information from course registrants as required by Transport Canada and Industry Canada. Datum Marine Services Ltd. ensures it only collects personal information that is necessary and reasonable for course registration and only collects such data from the candidate or the candidates’ employer.

Personal information will only be used for registration purposes and will not be disclosed to third parties other than Transport Canada and Industry Canada or where otherwise required to by law.

On request, Datum Marine Services Ltd. will provide an individual with information about the existence, use and disclosure of the individual’s personal information and provide access to that information.

Datum Marine Services Ltd. ensures that personal information collected is as accurate and complete as necessary for candidate registration. Personal information will be kept in a secure facility or electronically with password protection. Personal information will be kept for only as long as reasonable for business or legal reasons.

Datum Marine Services Ltd. will attempt to resolve any complaint about the management of personal information in good faith and quickly.

Datum Marine Services Ltd.’s personal information policy has been developed in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) which sets out requirements for how organizations may collect, use, disclose and secure personal information. 

How we will communicate with you:

If you register for one of our courses, we will send you the following emails only:

1. 1. A registration confirmation email
   2. A reminder email 1-week before the course starts
   3. A feedback survey email after the course
   4. Further information about the course you have registered for

We will NOT send you any promotional emails unless you request to be added to our email list. If you subscribe to our email list, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of one of our emails or email admin@marinetrainingbc.com and put UNSUBSCRIBE in the email subject line. 

If you register for one of our courses, we may need to call you with last minute changes or other important information about the course you have registered for. Unless you specifically ask for a call back, we will not call you other than to tell you important information about the course you have signed up for.

You can send HELP for additional assistance, and you will receive a text including our phone number, email address, and website. We are here to help you.
8. Non-Sharing Clauses: Datum Marine Services Ltd does not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.  Datum Marine Services Ltd does not sell, rent, or share the collected mobile numbers or mobile opt-in information with anyone.
