To be successful in these courses, you will need to be reasonably fluent in written and spoken English.
As a captain or other crew member on a boat in Canada, you will need to communicate in English or French (official languages in Canada) with the Coast Guard, Police, Search & Rescue and other vessels.
Transport Canada has approved our courses in the English language. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to provide training in any other languages at this time. During the exam, participants are NOT permitted to use any electronic devices but may use a paper dictionary/translator if needed (Transport Canada regulations).
We can, on a case-by-case basis, accommodate people with literacy challenges (dyslexia, ADHD etc). Our instructors may ask you to come in early or stay behind to help you pass the course if needed.
